That is why the YMCA supports families in their efforts to maintain the health and well-being of their children through increasing their access to health care.
Through the CHP+ program, families can receive low or no-cost health insurance coverage for their children. Click here to view a report about the program on NewsFirst5.

Do you know a family that needs health insurance for their child? They’re not alone.

YMCA Staff are here to answer questions about coverage and enrollment and to assist families through the application process. Contact us directly at 329.7238 or jruiz@ppymca.org; for a detailed listing of locations and times when staff will be in your area download our Outreach Calendar.

Frequently Asked Questions
Who else qualifies for the CHP+ coverage besides children 18 yrs and below?
Pregnant women are also eligible for this program.

We have recently lost our coverage, can we immediately apply for CHP+ coverage for our children?
If insurance coverage has been lost or will be lost in the near future due to loss of employment or termination of coverage by employer you can apply to receive coverage for your child now.

I presently pay more than 50% of the insurance premium for my family’s health insurance through my employer. Would my children be eligible to be covered under CHP+ instead?
Depending upon income level, families that are presently contributing the majority cost of insurance coverage for their children can be eligible for CHP+. For information on income guidelines visit: http://www.cchp.org/index.cfm?action=eligibility&language=eng

What does the CHP+ insurance program cover?
For details on coverage, visit the Colorado Health Plan Plus web site at: www.chpplus.org

Are their other options for my family in addition to CHP+?
Absolutely! YMCA Staff can meet with you in person or over the phone to discuss your family’s health care options and assist you with the form of coverage that is best for you. We can be reached at 719-329-7238 or at jruiz@ppymca.org.
