I am starting to have success finding applicants through job postings at universities in cities I am looking to expand.
For example next week I am planning to interview, hire someone in Minneapolis, then hopefully KC, Dallas, Houston, Phoenix.
Besides selling Directory listings and local page advertising we are asking that they add 25 of their friends and family as networking members and to also be responsible for posting a blog, forum discussion or participate in a group at least weekly.
They also have responsibility for arranging merchant and real estate articles for the comunity pages.
So we are trying to generate revenue and expand the website usage at the same time. Not all of the applicants are current graduates but most would be the 22 - 30 age range, so hoping to take advantage of their social networking capabilities.
please give me your thoughts about improving this approach.
The positions are 100% commission, independent contractors, receiving a 40% split.

I think social networking and Craigslist are your best venues for attracting both search traffic and your target demographic.
I've used a plethora of lesser job boards as well for 1099 / Full Commission recruiting. Many of them are feeding the larger boards, and a great (read: inexpensive) way to reach out to the seekers.
PM me for a list, I'll gladly share them with you.
Much success to You!
